Saturday, October 29, 2011 A Masquerade Ball at the 92nd Street Y A Fall Celebration of Classic (Victorian & Ragtime) Ballroom Dance Join us for a fall celebration of the music and dances of the Victorian and Ragtime Era (the late 1800s and early 1900s). Dance the night away as if you were in New York, Paris or London for a masked ball. Enjoy an evening of waltzes, country dances, quadrilles, schottisches, tangos, one-steps, foxtrots, and more. Dance to the classic music of the day. All are welcome; no experience necessary as there will be a workshop before the dance. For those with ballroom experience, come enjoy new music and pick-up a new step or two, but the steps you know will carry you through the evening. Refreshments will be served. Saturday, June 30th, 2012 Ragtime Ball - at the 92nd Street Y Instruction/calling by Marc Casslar Join us for a summer celebration of the music and dances of the Ragtime Era (the late teens and early 20s). Dance the night away as if you were in New York, Paris or London in the early 20th century. Enjoy an evening of waltzes, tangos, one-steps, foxtrots, and, of course, the blues. Dance to the classic Rags and songs of the day. All are welcome; no experience necessary as there will be a workshop before the dance. For those with ballroom experience, come enjoy new music and pick-up a new step or two, but the steps you know will carry you through the evening. Refreshments will be served.
